Jazz

Jazz is an amazing young girl, and all these sites listed below do not do justice to how awesome she really is. Her story, just like Coy's, is very important and powerful. Take some time to watch the videos about Jazz and read her story. 11 year old Jazz speaks out so eloquently about who she which makes her a hero to fellow transgender children and their families. Her bravery afforded her the Colin Higgins Youth Courage Award.

http://kdvr.com/2013/02/26/6-year-old-transgendered-girl-fights-intolerance-parents-file-civil-rights-complaint

This news story, coupled with the video, shows how one family speaks out against discrimination. This story could actually fit in all of our blog categories.

http://www.katiecouric.com/on-the-show/2013/02/26/trapped-in-the-wrong-body-growing-up-transgender

While the Katie show web description was not worded well, the show was amazing!!!
It was filled with information that anyone who is concerned about a trans person at such a young age.

Just like Maine (see http://equalicomdiscrimination.blogspot.com/2013/02/the-maine-idea.html?m=1) Colorado has the Anti-discrimination Act.

This little girl's family is brave!! The comments on the Fox31 website...you have to see for yourself. Hopefully, for their sake, no one will try to say such things directly to them. They are said to have scheduled a press conference on Wednesday 2/27 on the Colorado Capital steps at 11am. They are represented by TLDEF attorney, Michael Silverman.

Already, Colorado newspapers are running stories on their websites http://www.denverpost.com/recommended/ci_22674172

Our hats are off to them.
